I am so sorry to hear that the cancer is back, I know how you feel! My father who just turned 63 was diognosed with Pancreatic cancer and the cat scan also showed it has spread to his liver. The answer to your question is, yes, there is always hope and as you have probably read a key factor is attitude. Keep a positive additude! It will help your father in the days ahead to fight this terrible disease. I would love to see how things are going for your father. Anyone with any stories re pancreatic cancer especially stage 4 would be appreciated.0

My mother, only 55 years old, was just daignosed with Pancreatic CA w/ mets to the liver on Tuesday 10/5/04. I truely feel your pain. Please keep me informed of anything you hear of in the treatment of this disease and I will do the same. I think it is very important that we all keep each other informed of any thing that is out there that we find out. My prayers go out to you and your family.

I found out that Johns Hopkins is doing a surgery that removes up to 75% of the liver and I was thinking that a pancreas transplant along with the liver surgery might cure my dad. I found out that cancer patients are not eligible for transplants I am outraged does this mean that a perfectly otherwise healthy person cannot get a pancreas transplant? I think we should all fight to change that because I believe there would be hope. Pancreas transplants help diabetic patients why not cancer? I am also sorry to hear about your mom and you and your family are in my prayers as is everyone else here.aglass said:Hopper

My brother, age 50, has just been diagnosed with pan. cancer. It is wrapped around his liver and intestines so it sounds like surgery isn't an option. He starts chemo and radiation in a couple of weeks. I'm trying to find survivor stories, inspirational stories, prayers, etc. to send him. There is hope. Don't listen to statistics. If today the temperature reached a high of 100 degress and yesterday the high was 10 degrees the average for the 2 days is 55 degrees. Crazy, huh? Don't believe statistics. Everyone is unique, every case is unique. I do believe people can be cured, if they believe it too.bmcadams said:I found out that Johns Hopkins is doing a surgery that removes up to 75% of the liver and I was thinking that a pancreas transplant along with the liver surgery might cure my dad. I just received a free video and books on pancreatic cancer. I've sent it on to my brother, who has pc. I only got to read some of it before I mailed it this morning but it seems like GREAT medicine. Yes, there is hope.0 -
