My husband was diagnosed with nsc stage IIIB lung cancer in february 2004. His lung mass is not resectable and has a lymph node involvemnet in chest. He has already gone thru 33 radiation treatments and 28 chemo treatments of Taxol/Carboplatin. All along thru CT scans the mass had been skrinking and responding but this past monday his CT scans should that the mass has enlarged some and now there are multiple spots on his liver. The doctor has decided to put him on Gemzar and something else to see if it will respond to that. Has anyone gone thru the Gemzar treatments with success and has anyone gotten slightly worse like my husband but then improved again? I am so concerned and not sure what to expect and don't know if this does happen. What are the survival times with this type and in the stage he is in. Any response from anyone would be so helpful. I am scared at this point and don't know what to expect. Thanks and God Bless! Elaine
