Hello all. As some of you know my bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction is the 16th. Thank you to everyone that has helped me deal with this. It has been quite a shock to me and my family, but the worst is almost over. I am only removing my left breast to prevent future occurances. I am hoping all goes well and I will be back probably towards the end of Oct. Thanks again.

I hope things went well for you. I too had a bi-lateral 8/19. I was supposed to have reconstruction but the parts weren't there - found that out 10 minutes before surgery and what was I to do. I had radioactive material in my breast, my son was on a plane to be with me, but most importantly I didn't want the cancer to have a chance to find it's way to a node. I pray your nodes were clear. I am so blessed, no chemo or radiation and I pray the same for yours.
I'll have reconstruction in a few months. Did you have tissue expanders? How are you doing pain wise - you are in my prayers
