I know cholesterol concerns are at the bottom of our list of worries, but I wonder if anyone else here has heard that Tamoxifen lowers cholesterol levels and Arimidex causes elevated cholesterol levels?
Thanks.
Sue

    Hi Sue,
I can't remember where I read it but yes I have also heard this to be true. If I can find the article I will post the link under this thread.

Sue, during clinical trials, more women on Arimidex had elevated chgolesterol levels. Numbers were up 7% for those on Arimidex vs 3% for those on Tamoxifen. I've been on Arimidex for about 16 months now. My levels went up to 240 but as soon as I started watching what I ate and loosing weight, numbers quickly dropped to 197 at last check. Hope this helps.

My onc. told me that tamoxifen can improve the ratio between the good and bad cholesterol and may lower overall choolesterol.
