HELLO - HAVEN'T POSTED IN AWHILE-I'VE BEEN WORKING FULL TIME SINCE FEBRUARY OF THIS YEAR.AUGUST 29 TH WAS 1 YEAR SINCE DX-MY B-DAY WAS THE 21ST OF AUGUST THAT FOLLOWING MONDAY BACK AT WORK I DITCHED THE WIG. . . WHEW-IT ACTUALLY TICKLES WHEN THE WIND BLOWS THROUGH MY HAIR-I HAD BEEN WEARING THE WIG SINCE LAST NOVEMBER.MY HAIR IS REALLY SHORT,I'LL BE GLAD WHEN IT GROWS OUT MORE-BUT-RIGHT NOW I'M JUST GLAD TO HAVE S-O-M-E
JUST WANTED TO SHARE THIS-IT TOOK ALOT OF COURAGE ON MY PART SINCE WE'VE HIRED TWO YOUNG GIRLS AT WORK WITH HEADFULS OF HAIR. IT'S JUST ME I KNOW SOME WILL THINK IT'S SILLY OF ME TO THINK SUCH THINGS BUT IT'S NOT ALWAYS EASY TO BLEND IN WHEN YOU LOOK SO DIFFERENT.YOU'VE ALL BEEN WONDERFUL,THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

Hi Sue,
Never feel bad about celebrating something as wonderful as new hair growth!! I am so happy for you... truly! This is a wonderful time... Now you get to play around and try different styles as it grows out! Have fun! And forget what others have to say about it (unless it is all positive!!)!

I'm one year post treatment and I still feel like I don't always "blend". I feel very jealous when I see a women with a full thick head of hair. I want to go up and tap them on the shoulder and say "Don't take it for granted". I have opted to keep my hair short since its not as thick as it was (yet) but I still feel sad when I see a woman with long hair.

Its weird because I've had short hair in the past but that was by choice so I guess thats why this bothers me. Not my choice. Also, it takes a certain type of women to wear their hair that short, you know what I mean? Confident, don't care what others think. I ain't that women!

Anyway, congrats on being wigless. Can't blame being late on your hair anymore!

Hi Sue, it's Sue. Congratulations on losing the wig. I remember when I was in your position 6 mos. ago. I felt so free to just walk out of the house without a hat, bandana or wig. Kinda like first walking out of the house in the spring with no coat! Enjoy it don't try to "blend in". Be proud and confident and folks will think you cut it that short by choice. The girls with all the hair probably envy you having it so easy. I know what you're talking about how the wind tickles you. A pinch of gel or other product kept what I had tamed. Otherwise, when it got a little longer I looked like a Chia pet! It's all just another phase of recovery. Glad to hear you're on your way. Take care.

Congratulations Sue!!! I am so thrilled for you. What a liberating experience.

I can understand how you may feel different, but, before you know it, you will have a full head of hair and it will all be virgin. But, to have that hot wig off in this weather is a big WOOHOO..

Great news! Today, I also went wigless since my last chemo the end of May. My hair was coming in all salt and pepper, and I hated it, so I had my sister color it blonde. It's still very short, but, it is sweet to have hair!
