SPONGE-WORTHY?
Sorry - I've been on the road and incommunicado.
Back now but getting ready to sail off into the Bounding Main again in a few days. Should have good internet connectivity this time around. If anyone is ever interested in what I'm up to when I'm at sea, I post a weekly ship's newsletter (complete with pictures - lots of 'em) at:
http://www.uscg.mil/lantarea/cutter/decisive/
Look under "For the Family" (you're all my extended family, after all) and click on "Newsletter". We post the newsletter every Tuesday (assuming we're not too busy chasing druggies or terrorists or running from a hurricane!). I post personal copies of the newsletter on Sunday when I write it and cut in the week's photos - If you'd like your own personal copy, I'd be glad to add you to my list. Just drop me your e-mail address (I promise to only sell you e-mil address to purveyors of debt consolidation, porn, and spyware SPAM! - just kidding, Jose).
Anyway, thanks for the note Nanuk, et al. Sorry I've been rather silent of late - lots going on in my personal life (still trying to sort that one out), and been really busy at the ship. I will have more time once we sail.
I miss you all and love you bunches. You guys are awesome - I don't believe there is any more active, compassionate, helpful, insightful or cheerful site on CSN. Each and every one of you have made a difference in my life - and you continue to touch mine and countless others every day. SEMI-COLONS ROCK!
Pat yourselves on the back (just don't exert yourself too much, you know that causes flatulance... Simulate the patting if necessary!)

Tell Jen to stand-down. "Deep Throat" - although the name of a rather cutting edge 1970's pornographic feature film (which I swear I haven't seen Harry Reams and Linda Lovelace in)- is a reference to a character in the 1970's Watergate Hearings where former President Nixon was accused of breaking into the rival political party's headquarters to get campaign information. The informant (purported to be a Mr. H. R. Haldeman) was given the nom de guerre "Deep Throat" in reference to the vast disclosure he made to the press (namely messers Woodward & Bernstein) about the break-in. They got a great scoop on a hot news item from "Deep Throat" just the way Em gave one about me (although I, like President Nixon, will never confess to giving birth to twin Elvis')
See, Jen, you got all in a Tizzie over naught! Although I'm sure Ross did SOMETHING to deserve the grotty looks anyway.
"I won't say goodbye, instead I'll say what the Italians say 'Arrivaderci' - We'll see you again..."

Only the guilty would infer that my reference to Deep Throat could be anything other than the informer to Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman. Oh, yeah those other guys I mean. Now if you are talking porn star I claim my innocence and send you grotty looks too! haha :-)
