Feeling Helpless...
So glad I have this board for information and support. Just found out my dad's PSA went from 14 to 19 in the last month. It continues to escalate and the only treatment he has left is chemo. Fortunately he's not in too much pain but he is uncomfortable. My dad's Prostate Cancer is in his spine and pelvis, when he was first diagnosed he was in horrific pain, I am worried that could return with the continued elevations in his PSA. His doctor says not to be too concerned until the PSA actually doubles in month's time. Seems to me at that point it would be very aggressive. I am just feeling so helpless as how to best support him. I have been just honoring all his choices and trying to keep it real, but feel I should be doing more.....
Health & Peace to All,
David

Thanks for your kind words as always. My dad has decided to wait and do chemo when/if the pain becomes intolerable. How long has your husband been on the chemo? What is his present PSA level? Prayers to you and yours.

He has completed 4 cycles which is 4 months total. his psa went down from 8.? to 4.07 but it did go up little this month to 5.1. he is also in a lot of discomfort in his right shoulder. he will probably need radiation to it. we go for scans on 8/25 and then see th dr the following week. hopefully all is still well. but his spirits are good and he is surrounded by people who love him. So i con't to prayer and be strong for him. Sounds like a good plan for your dad if he is comfortable with it. just keep doing what you are doing and the rest will come.
Prayers And blessings to you and yours
