Single Survivors Section....
Well, so far our goal of getting a section devoted to single cancer survivors is still in progress. I'm told that it has been suggested to the big guys. We have done very well with emails and posts on this site. Our message has been heard, but we cant stop now. We all need to continue posting our wish for such a section! It must be known that this is not meant as a dating service but a necessary section because of the many single survivors dealing with issues, questions, worries, and self imposed stress stemming from results of treatment. For all who are interested in this... I would like to suggest posting a message, or, another message on this board... and send an email to the csn guy. Thanks a bunch for your effort everyone! God bless.

Hey MC u know I am in support of this and heard how they did sudjest it to the big guys. I am hopin that it will be approved but ur right we cant stop now there are many different topics thay everyone needs on this site but for us young people relationships and all is the hardest even if it could be relationships with any peer..... I will send an e-mail to jose and hopefully it will help us. and its not meant as a datin service either. None of us have looked at it that way its just a way o talk to others in our situation.

Unfortunatly I think we made a soap of CSN a long time ago but as long as we are having fun and helping eachother and our soap is better than any soap out there then we have suceeded hehe. Just hopefully we can get this discussion board and then tell the drama of dating and relationships in an area dedicated to it. Thats one of the hardest topics because of the cancer but we all wont be as lucky as Erica and Jason!erica10 said:Oh man, too much drama going on here. haha. I think this should have been done a long time ago. Young people are impacted diffrently mentally than older people. I think us young survivers should get together more often no matter were we are. Hello all! My name is Darlene, I'm 32 - 4 year Cervical Cancer Survivor - Chicago area. I think a single survivors section would be great! Having to go through this crap is hard for anyone - but for singles who have noone - I think worse. Not having a partner/spouse to lean on makes it all so much tougher. I have the most awesome family in the world, but still that lonely feeling seems unbearable at times. Lets not forget how much fun it is when starting a new relationship - telling them everything. Especially for those of us who have trouble- or are incapable of having kids. It would be so nice to talk with others who actually know how we feel. It is so hard at times when others seem to have it so easy(non-survivors). Then you come across someone who is the same as you/or worse and it seems better. I take medication for depression, but sometimes you need to let out your frustrations and hardships dealing with life. Who better to understand this then a fellow single survivor. I'm tired of people telling me how I should feel when they have no clue of what we go through.Perhaps if the people approving this section were a single survivor they would understand and give it to us.
Happy New year !!0 -

I agree, being a single survivor has its own set of problems, concerns, which haven't been addressed anywhere else.
I hope you're able to get a special heading here for us all...
I hope it's ok to publicise a new forum I just started at Delphi, for single survivors. It's something I've been wanting to do for years, and just started it a few days ago!
I'd like to invite all single survivors, of any age, to come join us... and also, please help get the word out at other forums where you may post.
We all know there's a definite unmet need for single survivors to meet and share experiences... and the more formats the merrier! :-)
Hope to see you soon at Partners for Life-
http://forums.delphiforums.com/partnersforlife/start
(Requires a free quick registration, Delphi format is very user friendly and fun.)
I'm a big reader of health articles, so lots of those posted for you to browse, even if you don't want to post just yet.
Well wishes to you all,

Hello everyone. My name is Jay, I'm 32 and a brain tumor survivor. I believe a section for single survivors would be great and give hope to alot of people. I was diagnosed and cured of cancer when I was 17. An experience like that can have lasting effects on a person. There have been both positive and negative things that have come from my illness. Its made me appreciate life and being healthy. That never entered my mind before. The only negative thing is the difficulty I've had in finding a mate afterwards. Maybe other survivors have had simlar problems. Let me know if anyone has.twink_ said:Hi all single survivors!

A singles survivors section is something that is long overdue. Dealing with relationships and dating is totally different for a cancer survivor. There is a dating site for single cancer survivors. Its called C is For Cupid. There arent many members now. We should encourage more people to join the site.0
