Stem Cell Transplant for Renal cell cancer

Does anyone have info on stem cell transplants for renal cell that have had positive results? My wife has renal cell and we are battling the choice of trying the transplant. We have talked to one person who wishes they would not have made the choice to try it. Anyone have any insight?

    My husband is 125 days post stem cell transplant for RCC. It was a very big decision!!! But with much prayer...we decided. William was restaged yesterday and we should know something by tomorrow. FYI- my William was given 3-6 to live in Feb. 2004...Praise God we are past the 6mth time frame.

    Thank you for replying. It is so difficult finding any info. We are from a rural community in Alberta, Canada waiting to hear from a doctor in the US as no one does this procedure nearby. I would really like to get more info from you if that would be at all possible. I'm not sure how you would like to procede with the discussion - on this discussion, phone or e-mail. If you are willing we would be glad to hear from you. Please let me know what you decide.
