vulva excision laser surgery

I just found out that I have to have this surgery for vulva carcinoma and I am so scared. I do not know what to expect after surgery. I don't know if I will be real sore afterwards for quiet sometime or if there is alot of pain,because I do not handle pain very well.My doctor told me I would probably have to sit on a pillow for a couple of days and should be able to return to work in a couple of days. Could someone please let me know what to expect? Thank God it is at o stage at this time,but I am still worried.

    I AM ASSUMING THAT YOU HAVE HAD YOUR SURGERY. I HAVE HAD THIS SURGERY AND THEN 6 WEEKS LATER ACTUALLY HAD TO HAVE A COMPLETE VULVECTOMY ON THE LEFT SIDE INCLUDING MY LYMPH NODES. IF YOU NEED TO TALK EMAIL ME. I AM STILL TRYING TO DIGEST WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME. ONE THING THAT I DO KNOW IS THAT IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KEEP A POSITIVE ATTITUDE, THAT IS WHAT IS GOING TO PULL YOU THROUGH.

    I had radical vulva surgery in Sept 2004. Need to correspond with anyone who has had this type of Cancer for encouragement...
