My father in law was diagnosed with throat cancer, had surgery and radiation. He has not yet had his larynx removed. Since then, he is in a lot of pain and is being prescribed oxycontin (1 yr). He has been depressed for about the same amount of time. The family has tried and tried to reach out to him and get him into therapy and groups but to no avail. His five boys are planning on doing an intervention on Friday to help him. He lives in the Haverhill Area. If anyone knows of a group or support service, it would be helpful to have that information. Thank you...

Hey there... my Mom completed her treatments several weeks ago and she is in remission for the time being. She has a feeding tube b/c her throat is so sore and she doesn't eat consistently. SHe is depressed too, and refuses to get help for it, but she sleeps all the time, (over 16 hours a day...) do you find this with your Father in Law? Please let me know how the intervention went... this is really hard to watch when you care about the person so much. Peace-0
