My goodness it's been a long time since I've posted! I've taken everyone's advice and have been enjoying life since I have been finished with chemo and am cancer free. I'm feeling great!!!! I haven't spent much time in front of the computer since the weather has been so nice. I'm always on the go watching my neices play softball, gardening, exercising, pampering myself and living life. My family and I are planning a trip to Ireland this summer. I'm really looking forward to that trip!! My brother has signed me up with a computer dating service as a 40th birthday present. Talk about not being in front of the computer! It's only been a couple of days, but I'm having fun with it. I can't help but wonder how I will tell a person that I am a cancer survivor. Do I tell them right from the beginning, or get to know them a little first? I guess time will tell. I think about all of you often and keep you in my prayers. To all who are undergoing chemo, keep your chin up and look for the light at the end of the tunnel, it gets closer everyday. To all who are finished chemo, get out there and embrace life, it's a wonderful gift. Remember - calm.....upbeat......positive!
Take care,
Carolyn

    Hi Carolyn,

It is so good to hear from you. I finished my chemo too and feel great. I hope our experiences will help all those who are still undergoing their chemo treatment to know there really is a light at the end of the tunnel. And even though some of us have finished our chemo treatment, we are still living life as a cancer survivor with all the fears, memories and pain very fresh in our minds - but we are getting on with life and we are here for all of you to help you get through your battle. Even though I am finished with chemo, I still feel so bonded to all of you that I will always be at this site to help anyone who seeks comfort, advice or just to lend an "ear" for someone to vent. Been there, done that.

Carolyn, I am so happy for you. Enjoy life and all it has in store for you in the future. As for telling someone you meet about your cancer - I tell everyone who asks (and some who don't) - if I can help save someone else's life, I will be so fulfilled. I preach early detection and vigilence with my health.

Take care and have the time of your life!!

    Hi Carolyn,

Your message is an inspiration to me as I hope to have my last chemo treatment on Wednesday. That is if my blood cooperates! These last few treatments have been pretty brutal to my white blood cells.

Congratulations on your good health and have fun with your new computer "buddies!"

Thanks for sharing your great progress with us.

    Hugs,

    Kay
