Great idea. In the area I live (N. Calif), a nurse that is also a b/c survivor volunteers to talk to newly diagnosed b/c patients before they have surgery (when they check in for pre-op paperwork, if the patient wants to talk). It was a wonderful experience to have a "friend" help you through those scary and trying days before surgery.
Good luck with your group --

I wish I lived closer but I am not close enough, I live in Fort Smith, AR. Good luck finding other survivors in your area. You might try posting at breastcancer.org, the Susan G Komen website, and/or lifetimetv.com. They all 3 have a lot of members everywhere. You can email me anytime you need to talk. I am a 1 year survivor. I finished all my treatments in November of last year. Take care, Lisa. lisadavidbe@sbcglobal.net
