Ihave been having problems with infected sweat glands on the same side as my mystectomy.I have been put on anti-biotics twice.I was told to put hot packs on so it would come to a head.As soon as I come off the anti-biotics,it comes back. Has anyone expierenced anything similar? Is this something that I will have to deal with for the rest of my life? Any help will be greatly appreciated.Thank you. Teresa

    Hi Teresa-
I haven't had anything like you're describing. If the doctor can't help you, you may want to get another opinion about what it is you're suffering from. Many doctors don't know anything about lymphadema -- my step-Mom had it for 3 months before she was diagnosed correctly. Some Physical Therapists have been trained in lymphadema, etc. so they can help you deal with what's going on.
    Good luck.

p.s. I'm no doctor but the only reason I mention my step-Mom's situation is because it happens pretty regularly with lymphadema.
