I have been taking zometa since Sept (4?) or thereabout - first monthly - now every three weeks. It is supposed to be the best thing around for bone mets. Mostly no side effects that would be bothersome to you - I notice more bone pain for a few days after the infusion which is considered normal.
good Luck,

Amy I've been on zometa since 02/2002 w/o problems. Just drink lots of water and no wine. Like jean said, some pain in bone at site of mets, but for me that was a good thing cause I just figured the medication was working.
God bless.

Bunnie: Yes, I have been on Zometa for 3 years for bone metz breast cancer. The Zometa (as I have been told) helps to strengthen the bones in contrast to the cancer dibilitating the bone. After the drip, and for 2 weeks or so, it seems like the chemicals are attacking each location of the cancer, and it hurts. But, I think it helps me keep going. You can tell the hurt - it's different. Hope this helps. TimsLady
