I just want to thank everyone so much for making me breathe a little easier on my mom's condition. All your information you gave me did shed more light on things. She informed me that the test "Her 2 new" just showed positive. Can anyone help me with that. Thanks again, and my prayers and thoughts are with all of you. Etta

Hi Etta. As the Her2Nu gene was explained to me, it's one of the genetic indicators doctors are using to predict the probability of a reoccurance. Herceptin is often one of the chemo drugs used to specifically treat Her2Nu positive breast cancers, about a third of those diagnosed annually. Remember that there are many different indicators and none of them guarantees you will or won't have a reoccurrence. New drugs are being developed, daily, to counter act many of these indicators. I take Arimidex to block estrogen in my body because my cancer was ER+ (fed by estrogen). This drug increases my odds of not having a reoccurrance. Hope this helps.0
