Hello, I'm new at this website. my mommy died of colon cancer on 3-10 and I don't know what to do?

Well there's not a lot anyone can say right now that's going to make you feel a whole lot better... Death is never easy but with time one does heal, try and take comfort in all the wonderful memories you have of your Mom. Keep them close to your heart and cherish them always. Just know she will always be watching over you !! I to lost my father 1 1/2 years ago and it still hurts but I try and think he is in a better place free from all his pain. Most of all I feel him watching over me everyday.

Hello, I am so sorry for your loss. I know how you feel and it brought tears to my eyes just thinking of you. It will be 2 years on May 27 that I lost my mom to colon cancer at the age of 46. I was 28 at the time. When she died I thought I would not go on but I did . It takes time and there will always be sad times from time to time but as the days pass you will find they happen less and less. I now know I have an angel in heaven watching over me and even though I wish she were here she is in a much better place now. I wish you all the best in this hard and trying time. Danielle

I'm so sorry for your loss. Time does heal all wounds, including this one. It remains forever a scar that you will look back on and remember how you got it, but it won't be as painful anymore. The scar will also hold wonderful memories and hold on to those. I lost my dad when he was 58 14 years ago, stand on the verge of loosing my mother to lung cancer, and am part of this board because my husband has colon cancer. I feel your pain, I truly do. Please, do take comfort in knowing that your mother is in a better place and that God has called her home to end her sufferring here.

I am very sorry to hear about your mother! one thing you can do to honor her memory is not to let this happen to you! I am sure you know the importance of getting your colonoscopy starting at 10 years younger than your mother was when she was first diagnosed! I am 33 and was diagnosed when I was 31, so, god willing if I have a child, they will have to begin being checked at age 21! Do this for yourself and for your mother and make sure if you have any siblings that they also get checked at the appropriate age so that this does not happen to anyone else in your family! Take care and like the others said, even though it seems impossible to go on, you will because you have to.
