Do any of you ladies have facial pain that you didn't have before chemo, now? *I had sinus pain and "brain freeze" pain while going through chemo and I thought it would lesson and it did but now I have jaw pain like the nerves are inflamed. I went to the dentist for X-rays and they couldn't see an abcess, but my jaw is tender to the touch and it hurts down into my ear also. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or not. I am 6 months past my last chemo A/C. Thanks
Lynne

Is it possible that this might be caused by the cumulative effect of clenching your teeth together tightly when stressed over these past months?

possibly. We have had alot of financial stress during the 3 years previous to my cancer, then my cancer and a grown child has a eating/substance disorder all in the last 3 years. Whew!!!I was just worried that now it's cancer in my jaw!!I keep reading about bone scans and pet scans but I've never had one, and one was not indicated by any of my docs. Do any of you know when they are indicated and what they cost? On top of everything my Blue cross coverage doesn't cover alot of things. Doc visits etc. thanks

Lynne, my thoughts are similar to those of DeeNY711. It sounds like pain caused by habitual grinding of the teeth, called bruxism or TMJ. I have it and one of my symptoms is a loud popping of my jaw when I open my mouth wide. My dentist was able to have a night guard made for me which discourages clenching and grinding while asleep. If I forget to wear it at night, I sometimes wake up with jaw pain similar to what you describe. I did have this problem before chemo but stress can definitely play a part. Hope you are able to find the source of your pain . . . Krista

I found a product that I think everyone should take, and I take it too. It's called THE GREATEST VITAMIN IN THE WORLD. I have a website that you can go to to find out some very interesting stuff about cancer, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, indigestion, weight loss, and why it is proven to be the best in the world. It is made from whole foods, and is the most complete, highest grade, and most absorbable vitamins, minerals(amino acid chelated), enzymes, and probiotics known on the planet ALL IN ONE CHEAP BOTTLE!! It has everything you need to nutritionally support your entire body and it's all for $40 bucks. Some of the ingredients cost more than that for a single ingredient, not to mention that most of what you buy in the store can actually cause cancer, heart disease, and more. Just read the label, if it doesn't say words like carrots, wild yams, and other vegetable words that you know, then they are synthetic and they could be hurting you, and even if they're not they not doing you much good either. Please for you and everyone you know, share this website- it's www.dontforgettotakeyourvitamins.com/wiley15427

I agree that this is probably from clenching or grinding your teeth. You can make your own "night guard", something to put over your upper teeth to provide cushioning while you sleep. Just get an athletic mouth guard like the boys use for football at the sporting goods store and follow the directions. That is what I use. Mine is just as good as the one the dentist made and cost only $4.00!
