One tumor worst; another better

Hello everyone,
Just found out that I have two more bone mets on my spine. I had two spots show up on a bone scan (one on the back of my skull and the other on a vertabrae). The one on my skull (whatever it was) was not a tumor according to the CT. But the spot on my spine was actually two spots according to the MRI. But also the bone met in my hip showed up as getting better according the bone scan.

So my question is: has anyone ever had individual tumors act differently -- one gets better while another gets worse?

I have liver mets - one lobe had one lesion which got better with chemo - at the same time the other lobe of the liver has six lesions ans they got bigger!! Cancer is a _______. (fill in any word you want to use)
