waiting for results

I found two lumps in my lymph node (neck area) and had a biopsy last week. I am waiting for the results and I am very scared. I have a history of breast and thyroid cancer. The only symptoms I've had are painless lumps in the lymph nodes, tired and last summer I would get chills in 100 degree weather and would have to sleep with the window close and blankets over my head. Not to mention my fingers and left elbow are very painful. I have asked the doctor to check for arthritis and the test came back negative. Now I sit anxious and scared the anticipation is more than I can handle.

Wow! You've already handled A LOT! I'm sure you will be very anxious until you get your results. Waiting is just the worst, isn't it? I hope it's not bad news, I'll be praying for you.

Yes, the waiting is the worst part, not knowing what may lie ahead creates alot of anxiety. If it turns out to be Hodgkins disease and if its any consulation, my dad age 70 is going through chemo right now and he is doing well, they gave him a good prognosis. Hodgkins is one of the most curable cancers. I know you feel very scared of the unknown, but you'll see whatever the outcome you will have the strength. It may be just a swollen node or infection. please let me know the results and I'll tell you more about my dad. jcm1101@aol.com Hang in there try to relax.

Deep breaths and let yourself be emotional. Don't try to hold it all in; let it OUT! My 80 year old mother is a 30 year survivor of Hodgkins; treatments were not nearly as successful back then, but she is still here. And, a survivor of two other cancers since! Keep good thoughts, keep writing to us, and keep me posted. I will keep you in my prayers. Please let me know what happens. Bless you and best of luck, Victoria
