A friend told be drinking wheat grass juice helps the immune system.....contains a lot of vitamin K. Anyone know if it's safe for breast cancer survivors to take....any adverse effects when taking Tamoxifen or Arimidex or Fosomax?
Thanks.

If true, vitamin K helps the blood clot and since Tamoxifen has a small tendency to produce blood clots, that would be the last combination you would need. Any greens will give you vitamon K - how about a salad?

I3C or indole-3-carbinol is over the counter. It reduces the potential for tumor growth and metastasis and it has a synergistic effect with tamoxifen, making it work about 30% better. Look for more info on line at PDRHealth.

One of my doctors said that simply having a history of cancer puts a person in a higher risk category for developing blood clots. If you do not feel it would be fruitful to try to discuss this with your doctor, look at the Memorial Sloan Kettering site About Herbs, Botanicals and Other Products at http://www.mskcc.org/mskcc/html/11570.cfm
