Mother Diagnosed with Small Cell

My mother was just diagnosed with small cell lung cancer about a month ago. The past 3 years she has been treated for Non Hodgkins Lymphoma that never went away. A month ago she was awaiting a cat scan from her last chemo cycle when she rushed to the emergency room with swelling on the upper part of her body (arms, chest, neck and head) We found out that it is in the the right lung to lobe and around her broncular tubes. The mass was so large that it was pressing up against and strangling one of her major arteries.(aslo a spot on her liver) The sweeling has gone done, (she has had two chemo cycles) she goes for another cat scan on the 14 of August. I am just very concerned with all the chemo she has had in the past 3 years and the wear and tear it is doing to her body. I am afraid her body will not tolerate any more. The doctors have said that it is inoperatable, and they are only doing chemo because the are afraid her asophagus won't tolerate the radiation. If anyone can give me any insight it would be greatly appreciated.

you might check out the www.apjohncancerinstitute.org on the CAAT therapy and see what you think. My husband has mestastazies head and neck that went to elbow bone and lungs and we are doing it with the chemo. It is an alternative treatment. Just check it out. My prayers to you and your mom, I know it is very hard. Love, Candy (my name too)0
