Your message sort of freaked me out. I am a mom who has just been found to have pancreatic cancer. My name is Chris and my daughter is very worried. If you want to know what I've been doing, e-mail me at sr95409@aol.com. In the meantime, keep a positive attitude. I will pray for your mom.

Pancreatic cancer has a very scary mortality rate associated with it. But don't be fooled by the statistics. The reason for the high mortality rate is not that pancreatic cancer is more "dangerous" than other forms of cancer, but rather that PC tends to be discovered in much later stages than other cancers.infj said:Your message sort of freaked me out. Regardless of what stage cancer you have, the Whipple procedure is becoming increasingly successful in dealing with PC patients. Do not give up hope without a fight. Research all your options.
My prayers go out to both of you. -
I am a 12 month survivor of pancreatic cancer. I am 54 years of age and had the whipple surgery and chemo. I have just finished chemo (the cancer had spread to 8 out of 20 lympth nodes) and I am doing very well. In July last year they gave me 3-6 months to live. Never give up hope, I never have. I also had lung cancer 13 months before the pancreatic cancer. So I have had two major cancers and surgeries in 13 months. I am well and have a full time job that I have been back to since 8 weeks after surgery. Your Mom can beat this thing. Good luck and you will be in my prayers.
