    after radiation
    Hello ps,
I am new here just joined today. I just finished my 30 treatments of radiation this past Tuesday. I was diagnosed in June 2011 with Aggresive and Advanced stages of Acinic Cell Carcinoma of the Parotid Gland and Lymph nodes. I had surgery to remove my partid gland and 47 lymph nodes on the left side.
I do have very thick mucous and the gagging episodes. I sometimes have the bloody show also. Sometimes the coughing gets so bad I end up not being able to keep the small amount of food I do eat down. The doctors say it will get better over the next few months.
My throat is sore but mostly for me I do not like the taste in my mouth and it makes it very hard to eat anything but I make myself do small amounts. That usually creates more mucous but hey at least I can eat and I am done with treatments. I will conitue with whatever I have to do from here.
Hang in there I am sure it will get better in time. Take time to heal and take care of yourself.
