This is my situation as I had rectal cancer surgery just over a year ago. Is there anyone out there in a similiar situation? What chemo/rad treatment did you have?

I had a rectal tumor removed on January 22, 2002. Prior to that, I had 6 weeks of pre-surgery chemo and radiation. I had a temporary ileostomy performed when they removed the tumor, along with 40% of my liver and 2 lymph nodes. After the surgery, I had 6 months of chemo. When the PET scan was normal in July, I was able to have the ileostomy reversed in September. Since then, no treatments. I get the port flushed every three months, and that is when my blood is drawn. I had a CT scan in March of this year, and it was fine. Did this help? Let me know if I can help more.

Hi Stacy, Thanks for your message, I was wondering how old you are and if the radiation put you in direct menopause and what did you do . I am 41 years old and I had my surgery March 20, 2002. It,s been a hard year, had a CT scan last week and all was well. LisaStacyGleaso said:I had a rectal tumor removed on January 22, 2002.
