My dad has been battling cancer since he's been 48 years old. He is now 80. February 27 he just lost his bladder. Doc. says that if he didn't have his bladder removed he would die in 3 months. 2 years before that he lost his ureter and kidney to the same cancer. Doc. says chemo or radation were not needed. The only bad thing is dad still smokes and won't quit. That is what I'm afraid will awaken those cancer cells. According to doc. they got it all, it was confined, Microscopically speaking, who knows. He is doing very well other wise. Dad lost alot of weight and doesn't have much of a taste for food at all. Dad also has sugar, and a pacemaker. You can write back. I'd love to chat with someone who can relate to this. Still I worry. Take care, I hope all and pray everything works out well for your husband. My dad just had that done in February. His surgery was a complete sucess. He is now 80 years old. Just be carful about the pain medications they put him on my dad has bad reactions to morphine and dilaudid. Made him halucinate and confused. dilaudid is worse then the morphine. He stayed confused for almost a week. When he had another type of surgery related to the bladder cancer 2 years ago, they put him on morphine that ordeal only lasted l day. My dad was too old to have a bladder reconstrution on the inside. So he had to have the illicit conduit instead. No chemo no radation either. Well write back I'd love to chat with you.
