I am new to the chat room, and two years ago I was diagnosed with ductile cancer, 20 of 23 lymph nodes positive and estrogen and progesterone negative. I went through chemo and radiation after a modified radical mastectomy on my left and an, opted for, simple mastectomy on my right. It has been two years since my diagnosis, and I go for a blood test every four months. So far so good.
Are there any other survivors out there with such diagnosis?

Hi,
I don't have the same situation as you do, but I just wanted to tell you that I am sure there are survivors who do. Congrats on being a 2 yr survivor yourself! It will be 2 years for me in April. Keep us posted and welcome on board!

Just another congratulations to you for being a 2-year survivor! Question...are blood tests the only followup tests you get after all your breast cancer treatments? I'm a estrogen and progesterone negative person too...so I've always wondered. My husband claims they will do a bone scan test once a year...but I've not heard anybody chat about that here.0

Hi 23,
I had BR/CA 9 years ago, and like you was estrogen and progesterone negative. I hadn't heard of another survivor like this til you. Now I don't feel so alone in this big world!!! I had the usual cocktail of chemo and radiation, and 16 of my nodes were involved under right arm. My tumor was 5 centimers in circumference in my breast, and 3 and 4 under my arm. When I was diagnosed I was on hormone replacement pills, but still had neggative tumor markers. So after all my treatments my oncologist re-started my HRT, since I had a complete Hysterectomy at age 30. I was so thankful to God to get those little green pills!!! The difference in the quality of my life was sure worth it. Atleast with the HRT, I could keep my sanity about this whole ordeal. I'm now 9 years out, and feeling like a "real woman" again. That the tests were negative for homone was a life saver for me. Hope this helps.

I am also new to the chat room and really scared right now. I was diagnosed with invasive ductal cancer with 12 of 15 lymph nodes positive. Also estrogen and progesterone negative. I will start my chemo protocol next week with Adriamycin/cytoxas. Anybody have advice, experiences or prayers for this 40 year old mother of 2 (7 and 9 yrs old).
Blessings to you all
