dad,s esophageal cancer

My father was just diagnosed with esophageal cancer. He will have surgery on the 21st and I just wanted to help him in any way. He is 55yrs.old a non-smoker, non-drinker and otherwise in good health. I have been inspired by survivor stories and believe with God,s grace and our help will beat this "beast". Please keep him in your prayers and feel free to contact me. His treatment options were to be radical and do surgery , chemo , and radiation and hope for best or to do surgery and biopsy lymph nodes to see if chemo- and rad were needed he has choosen the 2and and we pray for the best.     I was reading your post and see that your father is having surgery tomorrow. I will be praying for him. My husband just had the surgery on the 10th. He is home and doing great. Best wishes to you and your family. Prayer is the KEY!

    Thank You for reading the messege and responding! I Pray all the time and will pray for your husband as well . it,s nice to hear he is doing well i wondered what his staging was and any helpful hints to make recovery easier. thanks Jenn

    My mom was diagnosed with esophageal cancer almost 2 years ago. It was in stage iv and it was beyond the surgery stage. Her doctor decided to give her chemo and hope to be able to prolong her life if it worked. I am very happy to say that she is now cancer free and contimues her chemo every 6 weeks for the rest of her life (she is only 54 and this is the second time and type of cancer she has had). Her doctor is amazed and so am I. I hope that things go well for your father and I am praying for you.
