my mother is a survivor of breast cancer and underwent a mastectomy. i didn't know how to be supportive at the time but i'd like to change that.

i'm writing an article about surviving breast cancer for women's magazines. it would give advice and support to women who have recently been diagnosed, but from a different angle than is frequently published.

i'd like to include survival stories of other women who underwent mastectomies. please email me in the next week if you have any experiences you'd be willing to share - the more women i speak with, the better advice i'll be able to give.

thank you all,
adrienne

Just wondering, how can you give advise on something that you have not experienced yourself?

banker - i believe that's the purpose of interviewing both women who have experienced it and professionals who treat it.
