    Hello Greg,

I was diagnosed with melanoma in Aug. of 2001. I had a wide lateral excision with a sentinal lymph node biopsy on Sept. 10, 2001 and at that time was diagnosed with stage IIb because it was more than 4mm deep but not yet in the lymph nodes. I have been in remission since with no need for further treatment yet.

I suspect that because your lesion is thin, you will not need further treatment after the re-excision that is already scheduled unless it is found in the lymph nodes.

I have gained a great deal of information regarding this disease by visiting the many web sites pertaining to Melanoma. A few of them are:

    www.cancersource.com
    www.cancered.com
    www.skincancer.org
    www.sharedexperience.org/experiencelist.lasso?CancerType=Melanoma

I would encourage you, and others with this disease, to live in the moment and try not to panic.

If you have any other questions or if you'd like to correspond further, please feel free to do so. I hope this helps.

May God bless all of us on our journeys.
