Just checking in after being gone

I don't see many names that I recognize anymore. When I was dx'd in Aug of 2000 I came to this board for support. We lost some girls to BC and so I took a hiatus for awhile. I was hoping to put this disease behind me. In too short awhile for my liking I am already in recurrence. I have had my first 5 hour marathon again with Taxol/carboplatin/herceptin. I had a recurrence in my lymph nodes in my neck and chest. Already the tumor in the neck is gone so I am happy I am responding so well the second time around. I will have herceptin weekly so getting a port put in. I am diappointed but I know the Lord will see me through and I still must have a few lessons yet to be learned by walking down this same path. I got my wig and hats out of storage, not a pleasant site.... I hope I can put this back into remission at least for a time. There are so many new names and I am sorry that this disease has touched your life. We still have a fighting chance each day and we will never stop hoping and praying for a cure. Healing can come on many levels, sometimes physical but often on diff. levels, for me it is fear replaced with supernatual peace right here right now in the midst of this setback. I thank God every day for that gift to me. It sees me through each day and night. God bless all of you and may His grace be sufficient for your day. Love, Lola

Hi Lola, sorry to say 'welcome back' but hey welcome back anyway! I was diagnosed June 2000, but just got on site Oct 2002. It has been such a blessing, the ladies here are so nice! We will be praying for you. I've had a port since Aug 2001 and take herceptin weekly for bone mets and praise God I'm still here! My markers have been going up since Dec 2001, I go in Jan to get all CT scans done again to see if there is a problem somewhere. I feel healed and pray to God it is his will that I am healed. Gotta go, God bless. hummingbyrd0

Dear Lola,
My name is Cathy and I have only been on this site for about 6 mos..... However I have dealt with rhis illness off and on for almost 2 decades.
Without The Grace Of God I would have given up long ago...... I will pray for you and if you need more prayer I know some heavy hitters on this network and outside at my church.... Just threw that in I am sure you know your way around this site better than me.
Gods Grace Love Peace & Joy Be Yours
Love Cathy
PS Welcome back!0
