Colon Metastases

I was recently informed that a node in my long, which was discovered in a CT Scan when I was first diagnosed, has now doubled in size and an additional tumor has been found in my abdomen. I was told by my pulmonologist that because of my age, 39, and my otherwise good health that they would aggressively fight this cancer. My question would be has anyone been in a similar situation and if so what was the recommended course of action. My hope is that they remove both tumors and not begin with chemotherapy and/or radition. The first round of chemotherapy did not go well and only stunted the growth of the lung tumor. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

    I can't help much with the lung tumor but I had a 7" tumor in the lower colon and rectum. I had stage three cancer and so I did have radiatation and chemotherapy. It took about 9 months but I have been clean for six months now.

    Follow-up. I have a friend that had his stomach "flushed out" with Chemo. It was a five day treatment. No Chemo was put in the blood stream. His prognosis is wonderful and he is about your age. His cancer started in his appendix and moved to his stomach. He is now on oral chemo to just do some cleanup. He had surgery first and had a few parts removed.
