OK Tara you ready, tell hubby he doesn't know what he's talking about! LOL
1=1 11=2 111=3 1V=4
Stage 1: tumor < 2 cm (about 1 inch)
has not spread outside of the breast
Stage 11A: < 2cm and in lymph nodes OR
2-5cm but not in lymph nodes
11B: 2-5 and in lymph nodes OR
>5 cm but not in lymph nodes
In 1 and 11 lymph nodes refers to axillary lymph nodes only (those in armpit)
Stage 111A:<5 cm in lymph nodes and they are attached to each other (the nodes) or to surrounding structure
111B: above plus has spread to tissue
near breast OR has spread to lymph nodes inside the chest wall along the breastbone
Stage 1V: has spread to other organs typically bone, brain, liver or lung OR
has spread to lymph nodes in neck
Hope this helps you! God bless, hummb
By the way, the only dumb question is the one that's not asked! I got this info off of WebMD
