Hi again!
I just wanted to thank everyone who responded to my question regarding breast prothesis - I didn't know how to respond to everyone in the thread so I just posted a new message! It was really good to hear from folks and get much needed support! It was good to hear that some folks really like their prosthesis and that having problems in rural areas getting these kinds of services is not unusual! Trying to work through the insurance mine field is also being challenging! I'll let you know how I do!

hi there, just a note of caution.
I had a mastectomy in Jan. 02 and started wearing the prothesis in April or May.
I am a dd size, so it was heavy, but comfortable...hot in the summer.
anyway, now I have lymph fluid buildup on my side/back where the strap connects to the elastic. It is red and swollen, sometimes it feels like a bruse.
My Dr. told me not to wear the prothesis. and see if it gets better.
it's not any better, but not worse.
Just be careful.
LOVE, HUGS AND PRAYERS....Flo
