I had invasive ductal carcinoma in left breast with 7 positive nodes 7/26/01. I finished chemo and radiation in March 2002.
I had preventive mastectomy of my right breast and removal of my ovaries in September. I thank God everyday for life.
He has been very gracious.

    Congratulations on coming through so much so well!

    I think we all learn some very valuable lessons through our bc experience...and one of the best ones, as you said, is living a thankful life every single day! Nothing's better than waking up each day, and finding that we're thankful and grateful not only for our lives, but all the people with whom we share our life, the beauty and joy we've found...often in some very unusual places! Ha.

    Hello Cyndi, I had my genetic testing done and my bc was truly genetic even though it was an unidentifiable gene. We thought it would be BRCA I or II but it wasn't. My gyn and oncologist had suggested removal of ovaries and other breast. My sister had bc 18 yrs ago and had a new diagnosis of bc in her other breast 2 months ago. One of my aunts had ovarian cancer so I decided for peasce of mind I would go ahead with the surgery. I'm glad I did now that it is over.

    I too am a new member and have been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma in the right breast. I just had a lumpectomy and removal of 15 nodes on 2/4. All nodes were negative. Will start chemo 2/21 for 4 treatments. Then to follow up with radiation. I believe God will heal me. Just need to hear some encouraging fellow mates who have survived this with no more occurences. I wonder if I should have had an mastectomy instead. I am 46.
