Hi! I had a lumpectomy 2 yrs. ago. Recently, ultrasound detected a non-palpable mass (.88cm) in same breast near orig. site. Scheduled to have core biopsy with ultrasound guidance this Monday, 16th. I am already suffering from chronic pain in that breast due to the lumpectomy 2 yrs. ago and am very worried about whether I will be able to tolerate the biopsy. To give you an idea of the pain, my breast is hurting as I'm keying this, it hurt more when the dr. examined it, and the mammogram was almost unbearable for me. I spoke to the radiologist by phone. She said they will numb the site but cannot give me any sedatives because they'll need me to hold my breath at times while doing the ultrasound. I really don't know how I'm going to be able to withstand this procedure and the increased pain I'll have afterwards. Please help! Love, Bobbie

I had to have my breast numbed with Novicane and honestly, I could feel pressure, but not pain. Hope that helps!

Hey dear sister, just SCREAM if they ignore you. Of course, make everyone at every level that day aware loudly of what you are going through. Then, if nothing is done, just scream. Don't suffer in silence. They have tons of things they can do. This is ridiculous. Let us know how things come out, but in the end, if you have to make a royal **** scene to get pain relief, do it. Gentle hugs, Shirlann
