    Dear Kelly (again):
Sorry about the first message - I hit the wrong key!!
I just typed in Zoledex on GOOGLE and came up with this web site: www.cancerbacup.org.uk/info/goserelin.htm
It gives you the basics on this drug - what it does, what possible side effects, etc. I do hope this info will help you. Maybe someone will be able to give you their personal experiences with the drug.
    Take good care of yourself.
    Hugs, Brenda

    Hello Kelly!
    Zoladex... zoladex..
*shakes head* :::rattle, rattle, rattle::: Hey, isn't that what I have implanted in my back side?!?!? Egad, that last chemo hit was a DOOZY!!

Seriously, I had the 3 month pellets implanted into my bum.(Instead of the abdomen as I have a recent Tramflap) It's put in just under the skin. Let's see, that was August, this is September. Personally, the only thing I noticed was clearer skin. *smiles* I had one more period after implantation, which I wasn't aware would happen. The injection... ahmmm.. how to put it delicately... hurts .. when they insert it but it's really quick. I would recommend having it done when ye'haven't had your drainage tubes rudely yanked out hours before, etc. *grin* THAT was not a fun day!!!

Personally, I have the Zoladex to try to preserve my ovaries, the chemo is less likely to attack the ovaries when they are shut down, so to speak. I was told that I have a 70% chance of still being fertile after chemo with this stuff in me. I'll be getting another shot in October. Oh Joy. *wink* We were pregnant early in this cancer game and were strongly advised to abort as I was diagnosed with Her2Neu 3+, invasive and aggressive. I was told I didn't have time to wait for my 2nd trimester. Lovely, eh? We shall see what we come up with when all is said and done.
Egad, ye' can tell I am tired, rambling so... sorry! *smiles* BTW, I am 37, pre-menopausal and haven't noticed any changes related to the "artificial menopause".

You might like to go back thru' some of the discussions here, I know there are other references to it, mine included...

Be well Kelly! You'll do beautifully! Believe it!
    Love,
    Marty
