Dizzy Spells

Hi,
I am just wondering if anyone else has had these symptoms besides me. I am 48 and just starting into menopause and on tamoxifen. My cancer was highly hormone positive. Anyway I have always had dizzy spells the week before my period and during. Well, now I get such a severe dizzy spell I literally fall down. I have no control over my body and it comes on me very suddenly and leaves just as suddenly. I just had a MRI/MRA of my brain. Everything checked out. Tomorrow I am having an EEG. The neurologist can find nothing wrong. They have given me Celexa for the migraines. Said they have been having good results with this. I'm just not sure an antidepressant is what I want. I hate taking a lot of medications. Just curious if anyone else has ever experienced this. May just have to deal with all of this until menopause is over! Hey, at least I am still here to experience menopause. Doctors never thought I would be. There is always a silver lining to every cloud!
God Bless,
Kathy

Hey Kathy,
I have the dizzy spells all the time ... to the point I literally can't stand up or actually do fall down. I went through the whole MRI/CT scan thing ... they couldn't find any cause. My onc finally determined I was having some problems with my blood counts ... low rbc ... low sugar ... etc.
He decided it was something I could 'help myself' through diet and exercise. Also, I had a hysterectomy ... which brought the rbc up to double what he had ever seen it.
Long/short ... he said the chemo just wreaked so much havoc on my body, the dizziness was a long term side effect. 4 and a half years later, I still have the spells, but not as frequent.
Good luck to you ... like you say, 'at least we are still around to experience these things'.
Hugs and kisses,
angie0
