Looking for others that are survivors of sclc and those dx'ed with sclc to start a discussion group. I am a survivor since 08/14/00 and wish to help others through their battles with this disease.

Hi Richard, I have scls and went thru three types of chemo (carbo-platnum, vp-16, and taxol, I also received 6 and one half weeks of radiation five times a week. I am in remission now and just had a ct-scan today to see if I am still in remission and am praying. They wanted me to get prophylatic brain irradiation but I am not sure if I want to go thru this because of the side effects: this might not be a wise decision but I am not sure. Well if there are any questions that I can answer for you just let me know and maybe we can share notes on our battle . Mike

    Hello Mike,

I had my sclc removed on 08/14/00 and finished chemo with Cisplatin and CPT-11 Camptosar 03/01. Have been feeling great lately. I would like to establish a group of us for discussions about small cell. My email address for friends with cancer concerns is friends@joys.net.

Hi. I'm new to this discussion board. I was diagnosed with SCLC in Feb. 02. I have just finished 6 rounds of chemo. CT scans showed good results with 2 original tumors, but there appears to be a met to the spine. Had an MRI done Wed. and have a Dr. appt. Tues. to get results. I would love to participate in discussion with other SCLC people and share our experience, strength and hope.

    Thanks,
    Trish
