Hi, I have had numbness in my fingertips and toes since I had the Taxol. I have been out of treatment since Nov 15, 2000. For about a year now I have had a problem with my hands and arm going numb mostly during the night and it wakes me up.I have had surgery for carpal tunnel so I thought I had that back again, so the Dr. sent me for a nerve conduction to see if I had the carpal tunnel back and the specialist said that it was all a result of the chemo. My oncoligist said that if it interferred with my everyday life she could put me on some medication. Right now it is mostly at night for me. My toes and fingertips are numb all the time.I hope that you can get some answers for your problems.Let us know how you make . Feel free to email me if you would like to.
God Bless

I had the same symptoms you described. It all went away about 8 to 9 months after the radiation was done. My Oncologist was not concerned ... he said it would get better. I didn't like the answer so I finally went to a Nuerolgist ... she called it nueropathy ... I didn't have any treatment but one day I just started feeling better and better. As far as work ... my disability insurance didn't think the side effects of the treatment were bad enough so they wouldn't pay for my time out so I worked through all the treatments ... I did miss some time for appointments etc. The aches and pains are very depressing ... they will pass. Keep positive! Jamie0
