My last radiation treatment was in July of 2000, and I still have my peg tube. I can eat a little, but I still have trouble swallowing. My appetite has returned, but I can not eat that much, just soups. It took about three or four months before my appetite returned. Just hang in there, it will get better. Good luck to you.
