I was diagnosed with breast cancer eight years ago when I was 39. I had a mastectomy and treatment. I have finally gotten up the courage to have a tramflap reconstruction. I am scheduled to have it this Friday and I am very nervous about the surgery. I know it will not be easy afterwards, but the surgery seems to long - I will also have reduction on the other side. I hope all goes well. Any insight to your feelings and experience with this surgery would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

HI, glad you decided on this reconstruction. I had it done 3 years ago and I am not sorry I did it. Results are great. Its a little tough going at first, but like any surgery, you have to take it easy a bit. Your boop will be fine, its the belly that will be uncomfortable. Overall pain, can't say there was much, I call it discomfort. Was in the hospital 4 days. You will feel like a whole new woman having 2 breasts again. Keep us posted. If you have questions, you can contact me here. Best wishes to the NEW YOU. I will be thinking of you. Hugs Emmi. My e-mail address is charmin@froggernet.com
