Just wanted to let everyone know that after my 1st session of chemo (1 months worth, I'm going weekly), my new CA-125 count was 13.4! I'm of course thrilled and undergoing my 2nd session now. I was wondering if anyone out there has experienced this and how many more session of chemo did you incur? I'm taking carbo/taxofere. Hope to hear from someone. Sue

Under 30 is normal for that test, so yours is great. I was on carboplatin and palitaxol. There were 6 treatments in all every 21 days. It has been 6 years since my last treatment. Have you had nausea for your first round. Sometimes it doesn't hit until the second, so be prepared with zofran--miracle drug for nausea.

Thanks for the reply! I haven't had any nausea yet, finishing up my 2nd round this Thurs. I have noticed that my appetite has dimenished somewhat and a little more tired, but other than that ok. Did your CA-125 go down into normal limits rather quickly? If so, it sounds like your Dr. wanted to go thru the complete 6 treatments?. How were you feeling by the 6th month? How often do you have your CA-125 test done? Do you have CT scans periodically? So many questions, I'm sorry to bombard you, but I haven't a clue as to what is "norm", if there is a norm! Thanks again for your reply. Sue
