Request for Prayers

I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and have an appointment on Friday with the radiation oncologist and on Monday with the Chemotherapy Oncologist and I ask for prayers and support to ask the right questions and the courage to go through the process.

    You have come to the right place for prayers and support. Please check back often and let us know how you are doing. One suggestion my surgeon's office gave me was to buy a small note pad, one that will fit in your purse or pocket. That way, no matter where you are when a question comes to mind, you can jot it down and have it for doctor's visits. the pad also serves well to keep track of appointments, etc. If you haven't gotten info from the Cancer Society yet, hopefully you can pick up a couple of their pamphlets. There are some good ideas concerning questions that you might want to ask your oncologists. Good luck and God Bless. jbeardslee

    I don't have breast cancer, I have been treated for lung cancer, but I think all cancer patients experience the same fears. When you first are hit with the news of having cancer, it's like everything for a moment stops. Then all of the sudden your life starts moving in fast motion. Tons of information is thrown at you. A million questions pop into your head. It's like the first couple of months you don't have time to think of anything, your to busy making, and going to appts. But, try and remember to keep living your life. In stead of asking how much time do I have, or what are my chances here, ask what your first move is. Find out as much information as you can. The more information you have the stronger you are. Don't fight this disease so hard. Think of it as a chronic disease that you will have treat every once in a while. Look for the good things that are happening in your life now. There can be many gifts that come from cancer, but you do have to look for them. Attitude is very, very important. It's as important as chemo and radiation. You will meet wonderful people along the way. All the sudden life has meaning like you've never known it to have. Don't be afraid to ask us any questions, and you will need to have a since of humor along the way. It helps!!!

    I am sad to know that you must make this particular journey, but I do know that God will get you through it. I was diagnosed in April and had surgery in May. I am on the 22nd of 25 radiation treatments and tomorrow I talk to my oncologist about chemo. At times I have been anxious, and other times I have been very okay with this. However, never could I have gotten to where I am today without the faithfulness of God, my family, and this wonderful network of women. We are all with you in spirit and will hold you up in prayer. Remember that the Bible says that not one sparrow falls from the sky apart from the Father's will, and you are worth so much more than sparrows. He will see you through.     You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Let us know what you find out. Just remember you are not alone in this frightening world of cancer. Together, we can strengthen our determination and renew our hope.
    May God bless you always and give you the strength and wisdom you will need to get the best therapy for your situation.

    my prayers are with you ,I had a biospy ,lumpectomy and mascetomy ,the news kept getting worse..just had my first chemo.I found that when I read the Bible and remember all the suffering Christ did for us,it makes me realize what I'm going through isn't really much. The lost of my breast didn't bother me as much as losing my hair..after finding it everywere I went the other day and got a "buzz cut", I hate my wig !!!
