Anniversary

Hi everyone, it's loulou. At the age of 40 I was diagnosed with non small lung cancer with mets. to the brain, in Jan. 2000. Now at 42, I just wanted to share with everyone that it's been 1 year since my last treatment, and I am still (knock on wood)doing great... A few weeks ago I participated in our towns "Relay For Life" it was a wonderful experience. It was so uplifting, so if you get the chance I recommend that you check into it.

Well, I just thought it might help someone to read that it is possible to have a life, a good life after being diagnosed with lung cancer.

So happy to hear of your success. This lung cancer board does not seem to get much action which is very distressing. Have you had a lung resection? I am only 4 months out from last treatment (radiation) but have had chemo and surgery. My main complaint is my cough which makes me short of breath at times. Dr. said its scar tissue, I hope thats is true. My last CT scan was good.

I was very lucky, I didn't have to have surgery. After I was done with radiation I started coughing too. It scard me as well. But after a couple of months it went away, and has not returned. I still will have those days when I panic over a body ache i havn't had before, but I am getting better about that. I guess we have good reason to be concerned once in a while.
