My mother in law was diagnosed this past April with Stage IV non-small cell lung cancer (adenocarcinoma). It had spread to her brain, liver, adrenal glands and bones. She underwent 3 weeks of radiation as well as 3 months of chemo (Toxal). She just had a cat scan and found out that these treatments have not worked. She is about to start a second round of new chemo next week. She lives in Long Island, NY and is scheduled to get a second opinion from Sloan Kettering on July 31 (she could not get an earlier appointment). I'd be very interested in hearing from anyone who has had a similar experience or who has any suggestions at all. You can e-mail me directly at: jacobsr@howrey.com
Thanks very much.
Robert

Robert, I hope your mom is doing well.
In April 2003 I was told that I have Stage 4 NSCLC with a mass (4 cm) in my right lung, both adrenal glands and 2 lymph nodes. I have done 2 rounds of Chemo. My dr. says I have a 20% chance of surviving 1 year but she has known of patients living 15 to 18 months. I am looking for Stage 4 folks who have lived longer than 18 months and am attempting to compile names, phone numbers and more into a survivors list. Please feel free to contact me at moldy61@sbcglobal.net or 580-353-5132.

    Thanks, Margo Lubbers
