My dad was just diagnosed with bone cancer, not primary. The primary is in his lung. He is undergoing radiation therapy right now and is in severe pain. He was a vital active man until a few months ago when he awoke one day and had difficulty walking. Since then he has been admitted to the hospital, undergone several tests, physical therapy and finally a diagnosis. He is living alone and refuses to stay with anyone. Consequently, I have been staying overnight since he was discharged from the hospital and take him to radiation therapy every day and physical therapy three times a week. Has anyone out there gone through this. What can I expect? Is the pain ever going to subside? Is this just the beginning of the end? The doctors seem very vague to me.
