CAUTION: PET SCANS

Just a word of caution - if you have a PET Scan and it comes back clear - that is a good sign but DOES NOT mean there might not be microparticles still there. I had my bilateral mastectomy last week - all went well. 10 cm tumor had shrunk to 1.4 cm - removed easily and negative margins - however micro particles did show in the lymph nodes even there was no swelling or indication on PET Scan - dr. assures me that chemo has been effective and radiation should be an added "bonus" in eliminating them. However, I just wanted others to know to take PET Scans with caution - they typically only show tumor 1/4" or about 0.5 cm across. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers during this process.
