Can anyone recommend good reference books etc. on how to prepare a 5 yr old boy for his young mothers death from breast cancer, and how the remaining caregivers can continue to best support this child after. Especially addressing the abandonment and grieving issues of the child.

I know little about this, but I do know that I was struck by the approach in a movie I saw....where the child was reassured that he would be able to visit with his mother in his dreams...that seemed like such a reassuring thing to say to a child who has no idea of the concept of death..and I much prefer it to other hazy concepts for a child such as a god or heaven...My heart goes out to you and those who must help this little child...Susan0
