Taking care of employer problem, finally!

Hi, everyone!

Just wanted to drop in and fill you in on my "harrassment" problem at work. You will find the details in earlier posts. I finally had enough yesterday & went to my manager's boss and spilled my guts. Told him everything concerning his treatment and attitude toward women. My manager & I had another argument yesterday morning and it was the final straw. I made the call that I have been needing to make for a while. ( this guy refers to all women as sweetie,honey, baby....) unless, they are in a position of power in the company, then he refers to them ( when talking to me) as ****. His manager listened & was sympathetic & asked me to document everything in memo form and get it to him as soon as possible. He also asked that I include input from the other women in my office who have been offended by him. So, that's my job for tonight. I was nervous as hell, but I feel good that I have finally stood up for myself. Please keep me in your prayers during the next few days as I will certainly need them. This man will retaliate and it could get very ugly.

    YEA!!!! I am sooooo glad you are doing something about this jerk. As someone said earlier, I wouldn't wish cancer on my worst enemy, but heaven help him if he were ever to be in the position you are in now....what a big cry baby he would probably be. I hope that all of your hard work in documenting this "problem" pays off. Hopefully some of the other women in the office will take your lead and stand up to this pathetic excuse for a man. I don't know how you took it for as long as you did---I have a hard time with other women calling me honey and sweetie let along a man.....it really irritates me!! No need to even ask.....my prayers and support are with you. You are doing a very difficult but brave thing. My prayers are that the Lord with guide you and strengthen you not only for this fight but also as you continue to battle the cancer. Remember, you are not alone, we are all here for you and cheering you on as you take these next dificult days. May the Lord also shelter you from this man's attacks and give you peace. Must go and get some work done, but I just had to give you my "Atta Girl" for your courage and strength. How are your treatments going? Better I hope.

    Mel, CONGRATULATIONS!!! You did the right thing.I'm sure it was really hard to do but he deserves to get his butt kicked. This guy will only continue this nonsense if someone like you didn't report him. Good work! Cathy

    Hi - I am so glad you are standing up for yourself - I am suing my former employer (it was a woman) - who harassed me throughout my radiation treatments and then didn't give me benefits or medical leave just terminated me. Good luck!
